Day 5
Seeing LIfe From God's View
As this chapter opens by describing how people define their lives, did you consider the examples to analyze how you define YOUR life, or did you consider the “other people” in these examples? Ultimately the question is posed “What is your life view?” Wondering what the author's answer is. (presumably, the “correct answer”),won't be included in this chapter (if at all). Because the point isn't what “we” think. The point is, “How does God see us?” To that end, Warren says the Bible teaches three metaphors of God's view of life: it is a Test, a Trust, and a Temporary assignment. The takeaway from life being a test is that everything is important. Trust in this example represents that in all areas of our life, we need to be faithful because they reflect where God will extend his blessing spiritually, corresponding to our actions with the temporal.
