Day 9

This is a good way of personalizing the relationship we have with God and pleasing Him (asking what makes God smile) Because we can easily think of what makes us smile. And if God can truly smile because of us- for any reason, well then, we can understand the connection we would have with God. The two big obstacles are 1. Believing God would care enough about me to regard what I do, and 2. Knowing Him for the loving God that He is, such that my desire BECOMES to please Him. The solution to both problems comes in “KNOWING God.” When we enter a relationship with God through Christ, it is because we are able to recognize and accept that He regards us so highly that He not only cares about what I do, but He also paid the ultimate price to ensure He can continue to care for and be with me forever. When I know that He has already done that much for me, as the most powerful creator of all things, I cannot help but desire to respond in any way except to reciprocate that love. Both problems are solved when we respond this way. We please God: He smiles.
